Seriously though, I was oustide of firestone when GURU was supposedly there and had supposedly left. The security dude said that he saw the small crowd and decided not to go out. instead he hopped in his BMW and left. Did anyone else actually SEE him there. Again, I was outside when this allegedly happened and didn't see any of that. all of this guru hate with no real eyewitness account. if that did go down, maybe something else came up. i just can't believe how everyone just rushed to an, "i hate guru" and "no guru" stance without the complete story. like, "fuck that he and premier have contributed so much to hip-hop". I "heard" this is what happened so fuck him... wtf kind of world is this?
if I were a rapper and heard that kind of response from a cities inhabitants, i'd probably try to avoid that city as well. just some food for thought.

alright let me clear this shit the fuck up. I was there playing makeshift host (u like that bold shit huh lol) Basically I met one of the talent buyers with Firestone....next thing you know he wants ozone cats to be involved with their hip hop shows and promotion, then i enter the situation. With tickets in hand he wanted me to sell and give away tickets for this Guru show, mind you it was less than two weeks before this show. Grey Matter had been offered an opening slot which I helped secure. The night of the show, we go thru soundcheck fine(Dolo + Grey Matter arrived around that time as well), but this cat Guru was walking around with a serious chip on his shoulder (plus Solar trying to be the live sound engineer), me n DJ Doo Wop start kicking the shit and they leave to eat (Tijuana Flats). As they walk back in Firestone while Grey Matter was performing...they walk into the Green room with the talent buyer and I over hear them arguing . Solar starts screaming some bullshit about Guru being a fuckin' legend and that the crowd was too thin. Doo Wop slips out the room and proceeds to nod his head like, "yo it aint looking to cool...he is complaining about how this can affect his future bookings and shit like that. They are arguing over the contract now...shit looks like a wrap." So I walk over to Dyer, and I asked him to keep playing joints. Almost 20 minutes pass as I walk back to the green room all I hear from Guru is " Fuck this shit, I'm walking out the front door, these niggas tryin to embarrass me..." Doo Wop wasn't trippin he had smashed a gig in the South OBT area the night before...so I helped doo wop with a bag and walked em to their car and they were gone. Guru has said and done plenty of things to create this stigma among gangstarr fans. And this night was just another strike. Plus he's a short bitch made nigga...Jordan never discredited pippen or his team after he parted away from the bulls. This fool has no loyalty. |
